Stephan
Geissler was
born in Dresden in 1966. He has lived in the Koitschgraben residential
area since it was built in 1986 and still feels connected to the
district today
In his artistic conception, Stephan Geissler follows both American Pop Art and Surrealism. He began painting at a young age. Even then he developed his current understanding of art. After reunification, Stephan Geissler completed an apprenticeship as a commercial artist in Darmstadt. Stephan Geissler not only designs his own subjects. He also copies old and newer masters. For some time he has not only been working with brushes and paint, but also exclusively on the PC. Stephan Geissler's works are representational, but not naturalistic. There are things and occurrences from everyday life that can be found in his pictures and are combined to form colorful compositions. His works show worlds of thought, real things are unnaturally linked and materialized. Real worlds go crazy and the viewer is surprised. “There is no such thing,” one thinks at first glance. But what do we know about the world, what do we perceive when we rush through our lives, driven by the rhythm of the digital world.
